Welcome,

Considering

becoming a

Foster Carer?

We are currently seeking 30 new foster families.

We are the only 24/7 local on-call Agency in South West Victoria. We work here, we live here, we are here for you.

Local kids, local homes.

Welcome to your Foster Family website. Brophy Family and Youth Services established our foster care program 25 years ago and it’s been busy! We live in the South West and work here, in your community, so our focus is on local families. We have extensive experience and some of us are also foster carers too. Your decision to become a carer is a big deal and we are looking forward to hearing from you. Brophy Foster Care families are next level amazing!

“I didn’t think I could do it because I’m young and single and I have a three-year-old son. I did some googling and saw how much of a need there was and how flexible caring could be. These kids aren’t statistics, they’re not case files. They have names and personalities and you’ll love them so much and they’ll love you.”

Child safety first

Brophy is committed to the safety, participation and empowerment of all children and young people, and we have zero tolerance of any form of child abuse.

We are a Child Safe Organisation. We recognise the importance of keeping all children and young people in our community safe and supporting and improving the safety and wellbeing of children and young people and their families.

A note from our foster children…

“From eight years old until I was 18, I had four different Foster Families. I’m now about to complete my last year of my nursing degree, and am currently doing a placement at South West Health Care. I am grateful to the support I was given. I want to give back to my community” – Ellen, 22

“Even though I have had two foster families I am still at my school with my friends, I have made new friends with kids I’ve lived with. I miss my mum but I know she is okay and trying really hard.”  – Braydon, 9

“I feel like I am listened to. Sometimes I don’t know everything that is happening, but I feel okay because I know I am safe.”  – Gloria, 15
